It was a clean sweep for McNeese women's tennis last Sunday, as the Cowgirls made themselves right at home at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.

McNeese won both the singles and doubles titles at the Southland Conference Individual Championships, sending three players to compete for national tournament berths.

Salome Fluri continued her dominance at the conference tournament, defending her singles title with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 win over third-seeded Leticia Tarocco of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The tournament's top seed, Fluri, left little doubt about who to beat, cruising through the championship match to claim her second consecutive Southland singles crown.

But the Cowgirls weren't finished collecting hardware.

The second-seeded doubles team of Ana Hollweg and Elena Morales delivered an upset of its own, knocking off top-seeded Yana Mykytyn and Kseniya Ramonouskaya of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 6-4, 6-4.

The victory gave McNeese its first Southland individual doubles championship in the tournament's three-year history and completed a perfect championship day for the Cowgirls.

It also meant McNeese beat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in both title matches.

Now the Cowgirls will take their talents to the national stage.

Fluri, Hollweg and Morales have all earned spots in the 2026 ITA Conference Masters Championship, scheduled for Nov. 5-8 in Rome, Georgia.

There, the stakes will be even higher.

The four singles semifinalists will earn automatic berths in the NCAA Singles Championship. At the same time, the top three doubles teams — champion, runner-up and third-place finisher — will advance to the NCAA Doubles Championship.

For McNeese, Sunday's sweep was more than two conference championships. It was another opportunity to put the Cowgirls' tennis program in the national spotlight.

And with three players advancing, McNeese will have multiple chances to keep its postseason run going.
